Every five years, as mandated in its founding regulation, the European Environment Agency (EEA) publishes a state of the environment report. Europe's environment 2025 provides decision makers at European and national levels as well as the general public with a comprehensive and cross-cutting assessment on environment, climate and sustainability in Europe.
For the past two years, our experts have been co-developing the Country profiles section, which presents a short, country‑level snapshot for each of the 38 EEA member and cooperating states, summarising the main trends, challenges and policy measures in three dimensions – environment & climate, socio‑economic change and system change (energy, mobility and food) – using a common set of 20 EEA/Eurostat indicators. Our specific input includes developing the data environment for 20 environmental and socio-economic indicators from 38 countries, automating the resulting 760 dynamic charts, and publishing them in the online SOER report.
You can check your country's performance in achieving sustainability goals by browsing its dynamic charts in the Country profiles.
