The European bathing water identification, monitoring, and classification data need to be collected annually according to the EU Bathing Water Directive. The national data are reported to EIONET and processed by the EEA's ETC/ICM workgroup. We have been maintaining the dataflow since 2012. Starting from 2018, the existing dataflow has been renovated, taking into account the developing interpretations of the Directive by the Bathing Water Expert group and technological advancements in EIONET and EEA infrastructure.
