Since 2014, the EEA has intensified its activities in the region with a focus on guiding the beneficiaries towards ‘technical readiness’ for EEA membership. The EEA cooperation activities in the Western Balkans are aligned to the EC Strategy for the region and the fact that the EU has been pursuing closer ties with the Western Balkan partners in recent years. This project covers the activities on (I) water and (II) foresight studies, to be implemented in six western Balkan countries: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, and Serbia. We are implementing a series of discussions, webinars, workshops, and hands-on activities, for the benefit of environmental institutions in the region.
