The project was to continue to implement the principles and practices of the Shared Environmental Information System (SEIS). The project builds on previous cooperative activities in the six Eastern Partnership countries, carried out under the 2010-2014 ENPI SEIS project.
Our specific input was to coordinate the project from the ETC/ICM side, provide guidance in accordance with EIONET best practices and give hands-on training in the identified priority areas. Our experts on water quality and IT/data management executed workshops to design the roadmap of implementation of indicators and underlying water information systems together with national partners. On subsequent trainings in each of the six beneficiary countries, the experts provided hands-on activity to share the experience of the EIONET. Based on the collected and standardised data, the freshwater quality indicators were produced and the assessment composed in the regional report.
